Danaë Xanthe Vlasse ~ composer


GRAMMY®-nominee Danaë Xanthe Vlasse is a French-born composer living in Los Angeles since 2005. She is presently associated with 11 albums. She holds honors from the Producer's Choice Awards, Clouzine International Music Awards, Radio Music Awards, Gold Medal of the Global Music Awards, and the Peace Song Awards, as well as a multiple-winner of the MTAC “Composers Today” Advanced Division, multiple-winner (including Album of The Year) at the Indie Music Channel Awards, nominated at the Independent Music Awards, and multi-nominated at the Hollywood Music in Media Awards, as well as a semi-finalist at The American Prize. Furthermore, she is active in collaborations with other composers from all over the world; she has worked with composers and musicians living all over Europe, the Middle-East and India. A select group of Mrs. Vlasse's compositions are published by bpr music, and she is an artist on the MSR Classics and Cezanne labels.

Mrs. Vlasse’s music has been performed by GRAMMY®-winning pianist Nadia Shpachenko, as well as other influential award-winning American-based pianists, such as Robert ThiesMina PerryBryan PezzoneHoang NguyenArsen JamkotchianBrendan White, and Harout Senekeremian. International pianists include Carlos Marquez (Spain), Tri Nguyen (France), and Joaquim Bonal Sarro (Spain).  Other performers include GRAMMY®-winning soprano Hila Plitmann and multi-award winning soprano Sangeeta Kaur, GRAMMY®-winning flutist Wouter Kellerman, GRAMMY®-nominated cellist Éru Matsumoto, Long-Beach-Symphony principal cellist Cecilia Tsan, Los-Angeles-Opera cellists John Walz, and Charles Tyler, and LA-Philharmonic violinist Mischa Lefkowitz, as well as GRAMMY®-winning violinist Lili Haydn, violinists Caroline CampbellFilip PogádyBen Bartelt and Anna Corcoran, violist Virginie d'Avezac de Castera, and harpists Marcia Dickstein, and Jacqueline Marshall. Mrs. Vlasse was the 2019 Composer in Residence for the Sterling Ensemble.

 

 

David Wilcox, the director and choreographer of the Longbeach Ballet, along with ballerina Aitana Jordan, and figure-skater Madeline Stammen (of "Cirque Du Soleil" fame) have also incorporated Danaë's music into their work.

When asked about what inspires her music, Danaë is quick to respond:
“My need to create is so profound that I would keep writing even if no one ever heard a note of my music, but my creative goals are very precise in what I hope to bring to listeners; Beauty, Truth, & Elevation!”
